Dr. Erin Atkinson, PhD MS GC is a prenatal genetic counselor in Houston, Texas. Dr. Atkinson grew up in Texas and was a co-founder of her high school’s gay-straight alliance in 2005. Dr. Atkinson received her PhD in Genetics and Epigenetics from MD Anderson Cancer Center. During her PhD studies, Dr. Atkinson founded the LGBTQ+ graduate student organization to provide support and community for other queer students.
Dr. Atkinson has long been passionate about supporting individuals’ physical and mental well-being, which led her to genetic counseling. She has recently completed her training in genetic counseling, during which she discovered a love of prenatal genetics and promoting equitable prenatal care.
